We are very excited about this “signing” because its one of these things that rarely happen to us. It’s common knowledge that BACHELOR RECORDS is the greatest recording organisation in the world, so we get a lot of emails and promotional packages with tear stained letters, ransom notes, money orders from disgruntled bandmembers or helpless managers just to get their mediocre songs pressed on vinyl, with our label logo stamped on the back of the sleeve… We listen to most of the things that got sent in, mostly for entertainment purposes. But earlier this year we recieved an electronic mail with links to songs of a band that forgot its recordings in a cupboard for 40 years. We listened to the tracks and thought this is fake, the recordings were extraordinarily fantastico but somehow Mindy thought this is a new band, it just couldn’t be that these songs never found the way to a proper pressing plant… maybe it’s a new band that tries to sell these tracks as long lost gems from the early 80s? We asked this internet search engine “Altavista” and could not find anything about this band… so I checked the latest copy of FLEX BOOK and baboom! There it was – THE BINGS – Please Please Please 7″ single was listed there, and there even was a picture of the label artwork, as there was no pic sleeve when it came out in 1981. Well, and now, we are very very proud to have this single reissued on our BACHELOR ARCHIVES imprint in late September!
More news and links to a streaming site soon! I just wanted to share this with you asap!
